During a visit to Gutiérrez Zamora, Veracruz, the Secretary of Welfare, Ariadna Montiel Reyes, emphasized the importance of the Welfare Programs as the cornerstone of the Fourth Transformation. She highlighted that the Pension for the Welfare of Senior Citizens, now included in the Constitution, is an act of social justice towards those who have contributed to the country with their work throughout their lives.
Montiel Reyes pointed out that this initiative, which involves a considerable investment of resources, has been made possible thanks to the fight against corruption and the support of the Mexican people for the transformation. She emphasized that the Welfare Programs represent that transformation and that Mexican humanism is the guiding principle that will drive them to continue working for the benefit of the most vulnerable.
In Veracruz, she reported on the 870,000 seniors over 65 years old who receive a pension of 6,200 pesos bimonthly. In addition, together with President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and Governor Rocío Nahle García, she highlighted the creation of three new supports initiated by the President to help those in greatest need: Women's Welfare Pension, House-to-House Health, and the Universal Scholarship "Rita Cetina Gutiérrez."
The Women's Welfare Pension aims to recognize the work of women in building a better country, providing 3,000 pesos bimonthly directly to those who register, via the Welfare Bank card. On the other hand, the House-to-House Health program has already visited 6.4 million seniors and people with disabilities, providing regular health monitoring.
National servants continue to visit beneficiaries at their homes, and the "Rita Cetina Gutiérrez" Scholarship focuses on guaranteeing the right to education for children, girls, and young people, promoting the continuation of their studies for a better future.
